Q: What’s your biggest piece of advice for theater makers right now?

A: STAY POSITIVE AND KEEP YOUR TEAM’S MOMENTUM GOING – WE WILL RETURN!

Q: What’s your biggest marketing win on a show?

A: REBRANDING 39 STEPS CLEARLY AS A COMEDY WITH THE RED NOSES AND THEREBY EXPANDING THE AUDIENCE TO INCLUDE KIDS.

Q: What doesn’t work in a play or musical?

A: BAD WRITING, INSUBSTANTIAL CHARACTERS.

Q: What doesn’t work in terms of marketing shows?

A: FAILING TO COMMUNICATE TO EACH TARGETED AUDIENCE WHAT THE EXPERIENCE WILL BE.

Q: What’s the most rewarding aspect of your job?

A: ENABLING CREATION.  AND BEING ABLE TO COLLABORATE WITH THOSE WHO CREATE. ‘PLEASE SOMEBODY, PINCH ME PLEASE’.

Q: Who is the one person you can’t live without in your producing career?

A: THE BARTENDER AT SARDI’S.   BUT SERIOUSLY, MANNY AZENBERG MY FIRST MENTOR.
